Cacko Rom 1.22 Is Available!

Not able to connect Z to PC as USB Mass Storage device.  Worked under Cacko 1.21 but now PC can't see either the CF or SD on Zaurus.  Is anyone else having this problem under 1.22 and how can I troubleshoot  this to determine what's wrong?

PC running Windows XP, SP2

... I take it that due to the flash needing to be resized, the standard diag menu rom backup doesn't work properly? ... that's how I've always done backups before - perhaps the only backups I should do are via the backup/restore utility?

Please, read my previous posts carefully - no backup/restore between different ROM versions. Period.  At least, I'm not going to support such scenario because there are too many differences between the ROMs.
Understood.  In this case, I wasn't doing a backup/restore from the Qt utility, but rather from the Sharp diag menu: the full ROM/RAM backup.  What I was wondering was whether the Sharp backup utility somehow corrupts the backup file as it is not aware of the resized flash partitions.  This is a little off-topic, I admit.

I too am having this same problem.  I am no longer able to connect my Z (860) to my PC as an USB Mass Storage device, which I assume is causing my sync problems.  Also, my CF card which worked perfectly fine using 1.21b does not appear on either my Z or on my PC.  I too would appreciate any help.

My PC is running Windows XP SP1.

Kedge,

Just as an FYI, which is unrelated to the problem you are having.  You may run into problems installing packages that you download from feed if you do not have the necessary dependencies.  When you install from the feed the package manager will automatically install any additional needed packages.  So, keep that in mind.
Stupkid,

thanks for the hint. How can I check the dependencies of a package I downloaded?

The NAND backup in the D+M diag menus does a complete image backup of the NAND flash which includes partitioning. A NAND restore will restore partitioning to the way it was when the backup was made.

Similar problems here too. I got a C860 for someone and got them an Origo/Senao v2 wifi card. By editing the wlan-ng.conf file this prism 2 based card worked fine.

However in the new version of the Cacko the card is recognised out of the box and the led lights but we have been unable to get a connection.

We'd also really appreciate any advice on getting it working!

Cheers
Marc
I had the same problem. I found the only way to get it to work was to set the ESS-ID on the wireless LAN config tab to the ID of my home network. It then worked like a charm. I would prefer to have the ESS-ID set to "Any" for this card, so if anyone has an alternatie solution to make this card work I would be pleased to hear it. BTW the card shows up as a Zonet ZCF1100 for some reason.

I also have a D-Link wireless card. This used to work out of the box on 1.21 but just showed both LEDs lit the whole time on 1.22. Editing the config file as advised on other posts solved this, and this card works with the ESS-ID set to "Any"

Hope this helps

I've just tried it and it worked on my C750. I wonder if this issue is specific to 760/860. Can anyone else confirm that USB storage is working/not working with C760/860 and other Z models?

It works fine on my C860 (with slim battery - not that this should make any difference) - I can read SD cards from my XP box with SP1  - I don't have a CF card to hand to try though.
C860 - With OZ 3.5.4.1/Opie 1.2.1 - CF Socket Bluetooth Rev. G card - Slim Battery.

The easiest way is to look in the Packages file from the feed:

http://www.cacko.biz/cacko/feed/Packages

This is what the package manager uses.

Zaurus SL-C3200 pdaXii13v2 5.5 / Ambicom WC1100C-CF / Socket Bluetooth Rev G

OpenMoko FreeRunner - Running Tweaked OM2008.x Image

Works fine here with Fedora Core 3.

I saw in your release notes:

Added Orinoco 1.13e drivers with monitoring mode support, using as default for Socket/Symbol cards.

And in Host AP driver notes:

Agere Systems Inc. Linux Driver (Hermes-I/Hermes-II chipset)

Does this help the Socket Rev B WLAN card work?

Thanks.

I have reflashed Cacko 1.22, and now I have different problems.  My Z is still not connecting as a USB Mass Storage device.  It is now connecting as a network adapter.  This is allowing me to sync my calendar if I start the sync from the Z.  If the start the sync from my PC, the computer tells me there is no connection.  I cannot sync the address book or the todo list.

My CF card is now recognized by but my Z and my PC.

Any suggestions?

CF and SD worked fine for me. (see sig.)
Though from earlier experiences with elena, i first switched twice back and forth from PC-Link to mass-storage. I read somwhere, that the initial state wasn't allways what it appeared to be.

Just another question concerning Kino2: is there any chance for resume or bookmarks? Sometimes i enjoy watching movies while on the bus and, of course, during the day i need some of the other apps. It would be nice to be able to continue on my way back just where i stopped in the morning.

Cacko 1.22 is great, but I have to much changed in my hostap_cs.conf.
I am not able to connect with my D-Link-card, even I tried to change everythink as discussed before.
