Try installing the opera-chartable package on the feed. This is the updated chartable from the 1.21 ROM that helped Opera display bi-di fonts.  I just tested this package and it works fine on my Cacko-lite install.  Let me know if you have problems.

Enjoy!

P.S. If you are wondering why you didn't see it before it's because I just made it.

Thanks Bryan, you read my mind - I was about to ask you to do that

Anyone know how to add chinese / japanese fonts into cacko 1.22? I cannot browse any website contains chinese or japanese character using opera.
[div align=\"right\"][{POST_SNAPBACK}][/a][/div]

I do not have any of the Japanese support installed, but the text on [a href=\"http://www.sharp.co.jp]http://www.sharp.co.jp[/url] comes up fine in NetFront.  I only see a problem with Opera....

Are you using the lite or the Regular version of the ROM?  I might have to do some changes to get it working on the regular ROM as I do not have it installed at the moment.

Try the latest version of the opera-chartable package on the feed.  I added a test to the post and pre install scripts that should work on the regular Cacko ROM, but I haven't tested it.

To what extent can you control the LEDs?
I'd really like to use one of them as an ON indicator when my Z is closed.and on battery. I could elaborate, but it's futile if you don't have an API to work with.  Any plans?

Controling LEDs is not a problem, but there is no way to know if lid was closed or open, it's just a trigger, which emmits the same keycode whenever lid is opened or closed.

Hope someone can help me with a problem with Cacko 1.22 without hotfix.

Tried to load a .Doc file, hour glass displayed for a while & then disappeared, so I tried loading Hancom Word with the same result.

Tried loading it from Konsole with exec HancomMobileWord & the prompt changed from # to $, tried it again & Konsole closed.

Welcome any suggestions for a fix.

Yeah, that happened to me w/ Opera. (cacko 1.22 w/o hotfix.) One time it worked, and then the next time I tried to run it it just freezes like it is going to open - but never does. I haven't wanted to reflash cuz I got it set up perfectly right now. It took me a while to get my wireless card going, and so I don't want to do that all over again if I can help it.  So now I use Netfront, but I do miss Opera.

sorry I can't be of any help.

One more option is to reflash your Zaurus with larger root partition. Allocate 28 Mb instead of 27. You may have some bad blocks in your internal flash, which may cause these problems.

I'm just trying out the Cacho 1.22 ROM, and I love it. However...

It would appear that suspending is disabled. When not on AC, the zaurus never suspends, the power key doesn't work... All in all, not good.

I tried suspending by enabling the power key in /proc, and by using apm --suspend. With both, it works but when I resume qpe starts taking 99% of the CPU. Everything else works fine - if I restart qpe, it's fine...

But having to restart the GUI every time I come out of suspend is not exactly ideal...

Reflashed with 30MByte root  & HancomWord working correctly.

Also updated the Cackoo instructions as I missed 1 stage & added a section on restoring from a backup, making it clear that this should only be used when reflashing with same version of Cackoo ROM.

Hi,

I really love the 1.22 ROM.  It makes my Dynamism C700 about what I had originally hoped for when I got the unit in March 2003.

Can you tell me if reflashing with a larger root partition size might help me?  I too have some applications that seem to install properly, but when you start them, the icon just stays frozen, like its trying to start.  I don't have my SL-C700 with me, so I can't give you the spefic apps, but this happens with 5 or 6 programs I downloaded and tried to get running.

Also, kino2 just doens't seem to work right.  It starts up, takes forever to get to the file list, and when I start playing an mp3 file, it takes about 15 seconds to start playing, usually well into the begining of the song.  Then the song is "choppy" for about 5 seconds, then finally settles out and plays.  The play bar and time run time of song are never right either.  They always seem to come up with 1:03 minutes, no matter that the song I'm playing is 9 minutes long.  The progress bar gets to the end and stays there, and the progress minutes counts correctly, but you end up with 1:03 of song, and the running play time increments to the proper value.  I can live with the bar thing, but the slow start / choppiness is bothersome.

Here's a dumb question.  Could any of these problems be related to the fact that I have an original SL-C700, the first of the CXXX series?  Since it has the smallest amount of maximum RAM/ROM, could this be an issue?  Does the 1.22 ROM "work better" on the later units with more RAM/ROM?

I use my C700 as an mp3 player every couple of weeks when I travel to Albuquerque.  The old Sharp ROM mplayer worked fine for my needs.  The kino2 just doens't work well enough for me.

If I can't fix the underlying problem, is there a quicker less capable mp3 player you guys can recommend?  I don't need video, just mp3 audio.  If this post is in the wrong place, I appologize, feel free to put it in the right place.

Thanks,

Stu
