Hello all!
A OZ 3.5.3 pre-release is available at http://oz.hentges.net/snapshots/. Currently, there's only a collie Opie image online, more will be added when someone finds the time to build them The feed isn't complete. It only contains Opie packages. In the final release you'll find all packages from 3.5.2 (and more). Please help the OZ team with testing this ROM. Each and every bug you encounter with this ROM is very likely to be found in the final release. So, if you encounter problems, please reply to this thread. Thanks |

Warns about using an unexpected kernel on boot, then sleeps for a minute, boots fine after that though.
System information still reports being 3.5.2 (I'm fairly sure it flashed the image correctly though, since it has the 3.5.3 feed setup by default as well as the 3.5.3PreRelease kernel). I managed to break the opie configuration by going in to the timezone setting dialog then pressing back (just shows the background and the next and back buttons, disabled). Package manager's confirm package list changes dialog is too small, only the tops of the okay/cancel buttons are visible. But, and for this I will profess my love to you lot, it now wakes up for alarms again, which is something I was greatly missing in 3.5.2. That's all I've checked so far, will continue playing, seems nice overall though. |

QUOTE(Elleomea @ Mar 14 2005, 11:35 PM) Warns about using an unexpected kernel on boot, then sleeps for a minute, boots fine after that though. Ooops, that's my fault. I'll upload a new ROM later today. You shouldn't bee seeing this in the official release. But don't worry, apart from the warning, the kernel does match the initrd.bin. QUOTE System information still reports being 3.5.2 (I'm fairly sure it flashed the image correctly though, since it has the 3.5.3 feed setup by default as well as the 3.5.3PreRelease kernel). SysInfo should report Openzaurus-3.5.2-snapshot${DATE} IIRC This is normal until 3.5.3 is released. We need feedback about the current status of the ROM. It wouldn't make much sense to install old packages, would it? |

It wouldn't make much sense to install old packages, would it? well i have a good configuration right now, so i was basically wondering if i could link my already-installed-to-SD appz or if they would be incompatible. nm. |

It's worth a try, no guarantees though |

I can't seem to get wireless working. I need to use a WEP key for my WLAN (college network), and it seems to have major problems. All I know is that it "finds" the network, but can't get on it and aquire an IP. It's exactly the same as under 3.5.2.
This is quite annoying, as with the older ROMs it worked fine, but now with the OE ROMs, it just doesn't want to work. |

QUOTE(CoreDump @ Mar 14 2005, 09:13 PM) So, if you encounter problems, please reply to this thread. I just flashed my zaurus an tried to exchange Data with my Siemens S45 mobile phone. Sending one contact from S45 to Z via irda works well. Sending more than one entry dosn`t. S45 say x entries send but on Z only get one (the first). perhaps this is a S45 related problem. mm |

It would be nice if 3.5.3-final could be the first 3.5.x release to include working timezones... (i.e. New York and LA should be 3 hours apart and they should be 5 and 8 hours behind London respectively)
This snapshot also fails in that respect. |

Package Manager allows selections of unmounted targets...
Package Manager also reports "Space Avail" as unknown on my 256MB SD card... until packages start installing... then it updates. |

Looks like the address book is messed up... the Letter selections don't filter and it doesn't appear any of the entries are in order either...

Correct, there were some changes after the preview release which hopefully correct any issues for the Opie 1.2.0 / OZ 3.5.3 release. Thanks goes to _alwin_ @ #opie.de |
