Topic says it all. I have a c3100 with a planex gw-cf11x. The thing works great in infrastructure mode but I can't get it to connect to my laptop in ad-hoc mode. Any and all help is appreciated!

I am beginning to think that it may be the planex card that is the problem. There is an ipk file for the c3000 here: http://digit.que.ne.jp/visit/index.cgi?Lin...%e9%a5%a4%a5%d0
but it won't install on the c3100 says wrong version. Also on that page there is someone else saying (in Japanese) that they can't get it working either. Does Anyone have ANY cf wifi card working in ad-hoc mode on a c3100? |

QUOTE(Quickfry @ Sep 14 2005, 04:54 AM) Quickfry, Do you have the cg11x? I have mine working with wep with a d-link ap. I had t o lower the encryption rate to 40bit (64bit), shared key. but it works with the ap. I just can't get it to connect to an ad-hoc network. Have you been able to do that? Have you tried wellenrieter or kismet? Let me know. Thanks |

I do. I can't lower the encryption, it's a network at school, so even though I'm taking the network admin course, I don't get to change it. I haven't had a chance to try connecting it to an ad-hoc network. I have used wellenrieter, it works fine. Haven't got a chance to use kismet yet.

It just tries to connect but nothing happens. A wlan0 isn't created and kismet won't start. I'll let you know if it works. |

I sincronize Kapi with a ad-hoc connection to mi laptop.
it is easy. Laptop: create an ad-hoc connectiotn with an ip address like: IP:192.168.0.1 mask: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.0.1 DNS: 192.168.0.1 SSID: zaurus CHannel: 1 On zaurus: IP:192.168.0.2 mask: 255.255.255.0 Gateway: 192.168.0.1 DNS: 192.168.0.1 SSID: zaurus CHannel: 1 Then enable the adhoc connection on laptop, then on the zaurus. The zaurus will say that there is no signal, but there is. It works for me on a C700. I forgot, i cant connect to my 2wire router with wep key. weird! because i can connect to my Corega Aprs-11 with mac enable. I do not know if there is a bug on the wep key. |
