Before throwing them in the trash can, give IVT BT stack a try.

I'm not sure, but they might support Broadcom chipset in their drivers.

I'll try those, but I don't have a way to purchase the full version online, if they work.
Does anyone still use this package for Zaurus?

Thank you albertr. The software package looks really useful, I liked the interface.
It doesn't recognise my dongle.
Do you know the Linux command that will show the chipset of my dongle?
This is what windows gives on the widcomm advanced hardware tab:
CODE
Name                                         Type

Kensington Bluetooth EDR Dongle              USB

Device Properties

Manufacturer:                                Broadcom Corporation
Firmware Revision:                           Version 8192.65 / 39
Device Address:                              00:03:C9:BD:2F:0B
HCI Version:                                 Bluetooth HCI 2.0
HCI Revision:                                2000
LMP Version:                                 Bluetooth LMP 2.0
LMP Sub Version:                             4127

Shouldn't Bluetooth 2.0 be back compatable with Bluetooth 1.2, 1.1, 1.0
It says it is on most of the Bluetooth pages I found online.

The chipset used in your USB dongle is Broadcom BCM2045. It should be supported by BlueZ under Linux.

I installed the original software - again.
The only way I can get a connection from my C3100 to my WinXP PC is to use this command in console:
pand --role PANU --service NAP --connect 00:03:C9:BD:2F:0B --nodetach

This only works one out of about 8 to 10 trys. I am only 4 feet away from my other BT dongle!
I have to be at my desktop to click the BT icon, input the PIN, then click the BT icon again and confirm "Click [OK] to allow this action".
This fails most of the time.
Today, I only got a steady connection once, just after I re-installed the Widcomm soft.
All other times, I get this error in the Zaurus console:
Connect to 00:03:C9:BD:2F:0B failed. Permission denied(13)

If I ever get connected again, what do I do next ??
I want to be able to open a filemanager and browse my PC, and copy/move files back and forth.
Or
Go online thru my PC's modem from my Zaurus

I finally got connected using commandline as in last post. smile.gif (after about 20 tries)
I dropped a text file from my desktop PC onto the zaurus PDA icon in "My Bluetooth Neighborhood"
It transferred to /hdd3/Documents/Obex_Inbox
I'm going to try to transfer a larger file now.
I just transferred a 7.2MB ZIP file. It took about 1 minute to transfer.
At least I now know these dongles do work on Zaurus, smile.gif but to what functionality?
Also, How do I get a file to transfer the other way?

How can I make bluetooth work more reliably?
I would like to be in another room and connect without having to fuss with my desktop PC when I connect.

I got my 2 Bluetooth dongles to connect from the GUI, Finally smile.gif
I used the PAN connection.
I still have to fiddle with my WinXP desktop:
1. Plug in both dongles to USB, (one to PC, other to Zaurus USB Host cable), (wait for Zaurus to load drivers).
2. Click connect, in network, or icon if it's showing on taskbar.
3. Click connect, in network, or icon again, (this needs to be done twice). Next 2 steps are on Windows PC.
5. Click, (now green) BT tray icon. Dialog pops up asking for PIN. Type in 1234 and click [OK]
6. Click BT tray icon again. Dialog pops up asking to authorize the connection, click [OK]

Now I'm connected. ohmy.gif
My settings are set manually in PAN.
IP Address 192.168.0.19
Subnet Mask 225.225.225.0
Broadcast 192.168.0.255 (I found this number using ifconfig, don't know if it is needed)
Gateway 192.168.0.1
DNS-1 192.168.0.19
DNS-2 192.168.0.2

I can ping google, 216.239.57.99
26 packets sent, 26 packets recieved, 0% packet loss
I also get full activity on my modem lights in my Windows tray when pinging google.
But when I open Netfront and try to browse to google http://www.google.com
I always get this error: TCP Write Error
There is no activity on my modem lights either.
Both of my BT dongles are flashing rapidly.
What is causing this error in Netfront?

EDIT: I can surf the internet with my Palm, Bluetooth connection to my Windows PC, so Internet connection sharing is working.
EDIT2: I finally got this working with a PAN connection.

Seems I needed the correct DNS server numbers input instead of the ones above, (which worked on my Palm Zire 72)
