 Making addressbook sort properly |

Has anyone else noticed that the jump tabs in AddressBook don't work right, or is it just me?
And all my entries are not sorted correctly. Has anyone got this to work? I saw a web page about converting addressbook, but could not identify any lines which suggest they fix the sorting. Michael |

The tabs in the Sharp address book will only work if you enter data in Japanese. If your entries are in Enlgish then they all under under the "ab" tab.
From memory sorting is done for the whole name or the whole name pronunciation - sorry can't remember which. |

The sorting is done by pronunciation, not by the whole name. If you want correct sorting you need to duplicate the data into the "pronunciation" fields. Bad if (like me) you imported your data from, for example, a Palm (I did it by beaming and then manually copied the data into the "pronunciation" fields)

I really don't want to do that... I gues I could export using dtm2xml or zbdat, populate the pronunciation fields with a script, then import it back again. Has anyone tried that? Thanks. |
