Is there a way to get to use the Z as a remote X session server? I've got X/Qt on my Z (though it's problematic), but what would be good is if I can use something like eXceed on my desktop PC and have the Z serve up X applications. I know an option is VNC, but that's limited to displaying the Z's display and is quite slow.

I've just got my Wifi CF card today, and after making a change to /etc/pcmcia/wlan-ng.conf, the card is recognised.
Now my desktop setups consist of 2 WinXP PCs. PC1, is the gateway to the internet with IP 192.168.0.1, and PC2 is connected via a wired ethernet hub. PC2 has a bridged connection of it's LAN and it's wireless USB dongle, the bridge having an IP 192.168.0.2 statically assigned.
Now following the instructions at http://www.tomsnetworking.com/Sections-art...cle53-page1.php I setup an ad-hoc network, no WEP.
Now although the instructions say to use DHCP, when I tell the Z to use DHCP, it can't connect. When I tell it to use a static IP, it connects but i can ping or see anything. I've ran Kismet on the Z and it see the ad-hoc network fine, so the wireless network is there "in the air".
So basically, I can't ping anything at all, despite the Z says it's connected. Any help on this?

Okay, after finding out that there seems to be a limit on the size of the root partition from http://www.zaurususergroup.com/index.ph ... pic&t=2071 , I had to install siag onto /mnt/card (which is still FAT), and then create simlinks into /usr/local/bin to /mnt/card/usr/x11r6/bin where the binaries for pw, siag, etc exist.
Now siag (speadsheet) seems to be very problematic, whenever I try to open a file, the file browsing window that pops up doesn't like to accept my click on the OK button (nor the Cancel or Help). The only way is to close the window via 'X' in the top right. Basically, this means I can't open files! It's the same with Pathetic Writer.
Now Abiword is installed in /, since I felt that was more important to have in internal memory. But still, I have problems importing any file. MSWord docs that would open in Hancom Word would come out as garbage, and text files just appear blank. also, when you type text, you get every word unlined in red as if the spelling itsn't correct. Now I think my English is good enough to type out some words that have correct spelling, but when I try and launch the spellcheck tool, it then just bombs out.
(Sigh), last point is that xpdf will draw out graphics but no text!
Any pointers on any of these issues here? I'll try and submit bug reports if nobody has any clues.

I'm using Mandrake 9.2 and trying to connect my Z to it using the USB. Now it works under WinXP, so I doubt if there are any hardware faults as such.
When I plug in the Z via USB, I can see this from my /var/log/messages
Mar 18 14:27:36 mylinux kernel: hub.c: new USB device 00:07.2-2, assigned address 4
Mar 18 14:27:36 mylinux kernel: usb.c: USB device 4 (vend/prod 0x4dd/0x9031) is not claimed by any active driver.
Mar 18 14:27:40 mylinux /etc/hotplug/usb.agent: Setup acm for USB product 4dd/9031/0
Can anyone tell me what I've missed doing?
