Anyone got any ideas about reinstalling cacko after a failed experiment with pdaXrom v1.1.0? I tried to install the X rom and couldn't get it to work and so wanted to go back to my Cacko install. However a re install stopped almost every application from starting and gave ghost images (fixed by 'echo 75 > /proc/drivers/w100/fastsysclk'). None of these appeared beforehand. I then took a full NAND backup I had and restored it. This has given me a working install of the default Sharp ROM I got from shirtpocket. I then tried to install cacko over the newly installed backup but the same symptoms occurred.

I've not gone back to the default ROM image. Anyone got any ideas what outside the flash 128mb on my C860 could have been over written by the pdaXrom installer?

Hi All,

I have just got my C860 back from Japan following a screen failure. This has been sorted nicely, however I've now got issues with my Wireless networking card.

I have both a DLink WCF-660 and a new Origol/Senao WiFi Card (802.11b) from ShirtPocket.co.uk. Both these cards are based on the prism2 chipset and use the prism2_cs driver.

The Senao card is one of the new cards and I followed the instructions here :
http://www.oesf.org/forums/inde...?showtopic=4980
After adding the card to the /etc/pcmcia/wlan-ng.conf as shown here :

CODE
card "Senao"
 version "WLAN", "11Mbps_PC-Card_3.0", "ISL37100P", "Eval-RevA"
 bind "prism2_cs"

Following this the card appears to be recognised with the XX showing the card when inserted and the eth0 interface appearing when listed with ifconfig -a.

When starting the network from the Network GUI it doesnt appear to do anything, do I checked a ifconfig eth0 up which returned :
SIOCSIFFLAGS: No such device

So I checked dmesg to check for errors there. The log showed the following:
CODE
hfa384x_drvr_initialize: Initialize command failed.
hfa384x_drvr_initialize: Failed, result=-110
prism2sta_initmac: prism2sta_initmac: drvr_initialize() failed, result=-110
hfa384x_docmd_wait: hfa384x_drvr_shutdown: cmd_initialize failed, result=-110
prism2sta_initmac: Failed, result=-110
prism2sta_open: initmac() failed, result=-110

I then checked the card in my laptop which worked OK. Following this I checked the Dlink 660 which exibitted the same symptoms with a dmesg as follows:
CODE
hfa384x_corereset: hfa384x_corereset not supported on pcmcia. Use
driver services COR access function instead
hfa384x_docmd_wait: hfa384x_cmd timeout(1), reg=0x8888.
hfa384x_drvr_initialize: Initialize command failed.
hfa384x_drvr_initialize: Failed, result=-110
prism2sta_initmac: prism2sta_initmac: drvr_initialize() failed, result=-110
hfa384x_docmd_wait: hfa384x_cmd timeout(1), reg=0x8888.
hfa384x_drvr_shutdown: hfa384x_drvr_shutdown: cmd_initialize failed, result=-110
prism2sta_initmac: Failed, result=-110
prism2sta_open: initmac() failed, result=-110

So does anyone know what a -110 error means (nothing on google), is this a driver issue or hardware, am I going to need to send my Z back to Japan a week after getting it back? (Please say no :-)

For reference I'm using a newly installed version of Cacko 1.2.1b and my CF Microdrive works fine in the same slot.

My Zaurus C860 has has to be sent back under warentee due to a screen issue. I've owned a 5500 which I've given to my brother and had not issues, and cannot find many issues listed on the web related to faulty units. How do other people find their C7/8xx reliability?

p.s. I've bought a cheap HP iPaq to get me through the send / repair / return to Japan, and I know now why I've always bought Zaurii!

I switched on my C860 (less than three months old) today and just got a white screen with random (but static) lines going horizontally across the screen. D'Oh. I've checked and the rest of it is working (ssh'd in and started a VNC viewer and everything was fine ... except the screen was still not working). I then rebooted (a couple of times :-) and eventually brought up the service menu. This is also corrupted (but not you can almost see bits of it).

Any ideas or is my Zaurus goosed and ready to wing its way home (under warantee) to Japan for repairs?
