Just a quick request: so many people are doing good work compiling packages at the moment that it's hard to keep up. I know it's not difficult to find out what each mysterious new piece of software does, but it can get frustrating digging around each time so it would really help me, and I'm sure others, if you could just really briefly describe what it does when you announce you have built it.

Very many thanks!

As far as I can remember, I was using XMMS to listen to an MP3 on a CF card in my 860, with the screen blanked. I hadn't done this before. I closed the lid and pressed the power button, and now my Z is bricked. It will charge (yellow LED comes on and goes out after a while) but that is all. I have left the battery out overnight, and tried OK and D+M while inserting the battery, pressing the power button, etc., but nothing. sad.gif sad.gif sad.gif

I might have a hardware fault, but I am worried that something in the ROM has caused this. Is it possible? It'll cost me a fortune to send it back to Japan for a repair they surely won't do under warranty.

According to "top", kapi (1.9.4) is constantly consuming about 13% CPU, and hence reducing the performance of the machine (C860) and using battery current. Does this happen for anyone else?

I can go to shoutcast.com on my Linux box, pick a radio station, and it starts up XMMS and happily plays it. Looking at the file info of a random station I get something like . If I put this into Play Location in XMMS on rc5 (dillo doesn't have the capability to start up XMMS), it does nothing. I can play wav files, and connect to the net with my WCF12 wifi card. Anyone know what's amiss? Thanks.

I don't know if the old or new ROMs can do this already, so I haven't submitted it as a feature request.

Can we get the the sterling (£) and euro (€) symbols from the keyboard? And what about accented characters?

I also haven't worked out how to do home, end, page up, page down, and delete. If these can't be done, shouldn't they be in the new ROM by default?
