Hi all, I've just got myself a belkin usb-ethernet adapter. It works fine, pegasus drivers are loaded ok and i can ping things on the LAN. I did:
ifconfig inet eth0 up 192.168.254.254 netmask 255.255.255.0 this gets things working at least on my LAN. i guess i need to use route to get access thru my router to the whole net. but, i was just wondering whether there is an easier way......? The lan/wifi settings program that comes with pdaxrom seems to modify /etc/sysconfig/network but i am not sure how to make use of these settings. so i'd just like some pointers. thanks Emil

Hi all. Time to order an 802.11 card so that I can use my 3100 for email and a bit of web which is what I got it for!
I've been looking through these forums and I see that almost all the cards work. So I was wondering which is the best? I've seen a few cards on ebay, like ambicom, symbol, and some others. can't seem to find dlink. Anyway, i was wondering what is best for signal strength, reliability, smallness (not blocking headphones, stylus) or other criteria? TIA. Emil

Hi all, I want to change the rom on my 3100. (I know I must only use 3100 specific ones.) My question is:
As far as the Z is concerned is there any difference between an mmc and an sd card? I only ask because I want to flash but I only have an mmc card handy. It works fine in the sd slot, and I've read that there is no difference on the Z anyway, as it doesn't use the SD's DRM "features". But flashing is a risky business, so I just want to make sure that I can do it with an mmc card!! Thanks, Emil

Hi all, just got my 3100 delivered from pricejapan. It looks great but I need to convert it to english!
I thought this would be straightforward, as I read this: "Launch the terminal and change the /home/zaurus/Settings/locale.conf file to use 'en' instead of 'ja'." But I can't figure out how to launch the terminal! (or reboot for that matter.) Could I do this if I get it connected to my PC? I haven't managed to get the USB connection to work yet either, I'm using Ubuntu but I've got a PC with Windows if necessary. Please help, i'm itching to use my zaurus!!!! TIA. Emil

Hi all, I'm in the UK, amazon.com are doing the SA70 for $25 but they won't ship outside the US!
It's available for 50 euros here: http://www.handheld-linux.com/wiki.php?page=EA-70S so what's everyone else in the UK doing? 240-110 adapter? using a cheap charger? (my nokia phone charger says its 5.7 v) I realise this has been discussed before... but couldn't find any discussion of using a 240-110v ac transformer. Emil |
