Hi guys,
I just had a scary experience with my Z 5500, OZ 3.3.6 and a Symbol WLAN card. I woke my Z (pressing Cancel) with my Symbol WLAN card already inserted and all it showed to me were moving dark gray stripes across the screen. So I thought its maybe a bug and since I couldn't do anything else I flipped that battery switch to "Replace Battery". Well, that didn't change anything, so I flipped it back and pressed "Cancel" in the hope that the unit would power up. Nope, didn't change anything. I have no idea why I did it but I decided to pull out the WLAN card. Voila, the strips stopped moving and completely disappeard. Instead, I could see the Opie desktop again (a frozen desktop if that matters, anyway). After flipping that little switch twice again I was able to start the Z and everything seems to be back to normal. Is it? I thought that the battery switch would cut the power to the battery. Is that true? What did just happen to me and my Z?

I was trying to install Gaim on OZ 3.3.5. Installation went fine, I installed all packages in the feed http://qpe-gaim.sourceforge.net/feed/release to SD card. I can connect fine and send out messages but when I receive messages I only get "(Error receiving message)" (or something similar). I checked the FAQ where I found the advise to install gconf-tiny. I made sure that this package was installed but the problem still persists.
I tried to install gconv-modules but for some reason (even when I specify SD as destination) the package installer tells me that it installs the package to "root" (which, of course, fails because there is hardly any space left (1MB)). Any advice?

Has anybody gotten Kismet 2.8.x/3.0.1 to output GPS data? I have installed qpegps and zroadmap and both are able to receive data from gpsd but kismet refuses to put anything but 90/180/0/0/-90/-180/0/0 into its xml file. I also don't get any *.gps files.
From my understanding wellenreiter should be able to output/display gps coordinates. Does that work? How? |
