Vim 7.0

This is the full package minus the man pages.

Hello,

thanks for compilation of vim7. I've tried out the omni-complete for ruby but it's not working since ruby support is not compiled in. Could you try to make a version with +ruby and +python?

I've also tried it myself in the past but had no luck.

With best regards,

Fabian

User Request for Applications / Updated Ruby And Rubygems Ipk
« on: June 30, 2006, 03:55:39 am »
Hello,

the reason is probably that you use Cacko Rom, and not pdaxrom. My version of ruby was compiled for the later, so it probably won't work.

If you have another install of ruby for your rom and have problems with installing gems, you may lack some development packages or additional libraries.

Regards,

Fabian

Installing rubygems from source hasn't worked out.  I can get it to install, although I get an error with the post-install.  'gem' runs, but I cannot instally any gems with it.  I get:

ERROR:  Error installing gem (filename)[.gem]: invalid date

easy-install requires full python installation, so replace python-core with full sized python, see my other post on "error importing threading" how to achieve this

That's interesting, I didn't notice that we have two version from python to choose from. What about python development headers, are there also available? Some python-eggs like RuleDispatch need them to compile...

Hello,

>Also, is the update.sh from beta2 the same as beta1?

I guess it's always the same, so beta1 or rc12 should be fine.

Fabian

Hello,

I've compiled python2.5 alpha1 including all libs in one ipkg. This installs as python2.5 (aka make altinstall), so you can use it side-by-side with a regular installation. The file can be found at http://mail.pdaxrom.org/contrib/fabian/ , thanks to pgas for uploading.

Fabian

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Pdaxrom 1.1.0beta3 For C1000/c3100/c3200 And X86
« on: April 21, 2006, 04:06:03 pm »
Hello Pgas,

I solved the install problem, looks good so far for me. Btw, how did you create the beta3?

Here are my remarks:

/etc/ipkg.conf
----------------

- old src entries, changed to:

  src chero http://mail.pdaxrom.org/contrib/Chero
  src beta3 http://mail.pdaxrom.org/contrib/1.1.0beta3...s-7x0-860/feed/

Installation
-------------
- use updater.sh from beta2 feed

for gnumeric (and some others)
-------------------------------------

- libgfs from rc12 feed (new download location: http://mail.pdaxrom.org/download/rc12/Zaurus-7x0-860/feed/)
- libgnomeui and dependencies via normal ipkg install installed

general remarks
-------------------
- z frozen after suspend from inactivity
- qpkg not working
- no battery drain, but I haven't used the sd yet

Fabian

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Pdaxrom 1.1.0beta3 For C1000/c3100/c3200 And X86

Hi Pgas,

that sounds interesting, though there is a problem with the download of updater.sh, you only get the apache error message. Can you please upload it again?

Is the problem with suspend/resume draining all the battery gone with beta3?

Fabian

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Pygame?
« on: February 11, 2006, 05:25:49 pm »
Hello,

that looks interesting. I installed all three packages (c860, RC12) and tried to run jools and Zephulor but both complained about a missing font:

    font = pygame.font.Font(None, 24)
    RuntimeError: default font not found

Has anybody got it already running and can point me to the missing font?

With best regards,

Fabian

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Screen Compiled
« on: December 19, 2005, 02:52:23 pm »
Hi,

I have compiled screen, it's a nice program to manage several shell sessions (and much more). The official page is under http://www.gnu.org/software/screen/ , a good howto can be found here: http://gentoo-wiki.com/TIP_Using_screen.

As a quickstart, install screen, then run screen and you have a new session. Start a long running process like make or ping (or something else), then press CTRL + a and then d to detach the session. Now you can do something else, if you want to go back just start screen -R.

CTRL + a and then c starts another session in screen, CTRL + a and " lists all running sessions. It's very convinient to work with screen when you log in from remote from time to time and want to check the progress of your processes on your z.

I hope you like it.

Regards,

Fabian

P. S.: I have just seen that pgas has already provided this in his feed but maybe the quickstart is helpfull to somebody....

also vncviewer from the unstable feed no longer works with RC 11 on my SL-C1000. It worked perfectly before. Anyone else have this problem?

Hello,

Vncviewer still works for me using RC11 and 860.

Zaurus - pdaXrom / Mirrormagic Packaged
« on: August 22, 2005, 03:12:41 pm »
Hi,

the source for hmm3 is available under gentoo: http://packages.gentoo.org/search/?sstring=heroes

Does it help you or do you want me to fetch the code?
Update: I have just tried to emerge the ebuild in gentoo and it asks for the original cd which I don't have. Is it really open source? I would say it's not.

Regards,

Fabian

Hello,

thanks for compiling, a great game!

BTw, what's hmm1,2,3?

Do you think you could compile duke nukem, the source is available here http://home.mayn.de/comrad/?content=dukenukem3d ?

It compiled rather well under my gentoo, but I haven't setup a compile environment for pdaxrom at the moment, so I cannot try.

With best regards,

Fabian
