Zaurus - pdaXrom / Porting Pdaxii13 To C7x0?
« on: March 30, 2007, 11:34:17 am »
Seems to look the best of the pdaXrom flavours I've seen. What'd be needed to port it over? there was a beta3 for the c7x0 iirc.

Anyone wanna help give it a try?

« on: October 05, 2006, 10:03:55 pm »
Hi,

I've just put OpenZaurus 3.5.4.1/Opie on my SL-C860.

It seems my wifi card won't work at all.

I get the following error output in dmesg:

I've just not made use of it and it is sitting doing nothing.

I'm not sure what price to ask for it really. How does £35 inc. of shipping sound?

I'll ship to Europe or the US and am in the UK.

Feel free to make me reasonable offers for it though.

PayPal accepted. If you're in the UK I'll accept Postal Orders too. No cheques.

Thanks,

Kelly

Cxx0 General discussions / C860 Wont Boot
« on: July 28, 2006, 05:30:41 pm »
I'd put pdaXrom 1.1.0beta1 on, it was all working fine. Put it to suspend.

Next time I come to use it, it wouldn't come back on at all.

Removed battery, and tried it, nothing, nothing came up on screen, no responce to on button being pressed, no responce to OK and on button being pressed either.

Managed to get it to go into the Maintenance Menu (D+M).

Did a NAND flash restore to original rom. Still nothing when turned on, even when power connected.

Is it dead? any ideas??

Now for some reason, if power cable is plugged in, the power and mail lights flash constantly. And it won't go into D+M menu.

Gotten it to boot tot he D+M menu and done a flash restore. Did a checksum on the flash, got a NG on 'Preset'.

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / 3.5.4.1 Screen Flicker On C860 With Gpe
« on: July 22, 2006, 07:29:13 pm »
I've just flashed my C860 with OZ3.5.4.1/GPE and all went well seemingly.

I noticed though that theres a flicker now to the screen, that wasn't there before with the Cacko rom I had on previously.

Anyone else seen this? Is there a setting somewhere to adjust this?

I just to my horror discovered my Zaurus SL-5500 has got a big crack in the screen

The touchscreen doesn't work, but the screen works, if that makes sense.

Need to find a replacement screen if possible?

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Continuing Problems With Wifi/wpa
« on: April 18, 2006, 03:18:54 pm »
I can't seem to get my Socket LP CF wifi card to connect at all.

Tried changing my router settings from WPA (which i couldn't get it to connect with) to WEP, no joy there either.

Tried without any encryption and with mac address filtering off. Still no joy.

get:

Code: [Select]
eth0: New Link status: Connected (0001)
eth0: New Link status: Disconnected (0002)
device eth0 left promiscuous mode
eth0: no IPv6 routers present
eth0: New Link status: Disconnected (0002)

In dmesg output.

Running OZ 3.5.4.1-alpha2 / kernel: 2.4.18-rmk7 hentges T1-RC4 ROM.

any ideas?

Angstrom & OpenZaurus / Wpa Woes?
« on: April 15, 2006, 06:10:09 pm »
I successfully upgraded to the latest test of hentges rom on my SL-5500.

all seems fine with that.

But I can't seem to get my socket LP wifi CF card to connect.

I've set up /etc/network/interfaces as directed by a previous post here about WPA, and edited wpa_supplicant as appropriate.

Am using WPA with TKIP encryption via a Linksys WRT54GC.

I created also /etc/default/wpa and added WPA_ENABLE=true to it, as well as putting wpa_supplicant.sh in /etc/init.d/ as suggested in a previous post.
Code: [Select]
# Wired or wireless interfaces
iface eth0 inet static
    up /etc/init.d/wpa_supplicant.sh start
    down /etc/init.d/wpa_supplicant.sh stop
    down changedns -r  192.168.0.1
    up changedns -a  192.168.0.1
    address 192.168.0.156
    netmask 255.255.255.0
    network 192.168.0.0
    gateway 192.168.0.1
Above is what the entry in my /etc/network/interfaces has.

Code: [Select]
# This is a basic configuration for WPA with pre-shared keys (WPA-PSK)

ctrl_interface=/var/run/wpa_supplicant
ctrl_interface_group=0
eapol_version=1
ap_scan=1
network={
    ssid="****"
    scan_ssid=1
    proto=WPA
    key_mgmt=WPA-PSK
    pairwise=TKIP
    group=TKIP
    psk="*********"
    priority=0
}

Above is the wpa_supplicant.conf contents.

Any thoughts?

Thanks,

Kelly

5x00 Hardware / Socket Rev. F Bluetooth Card
« on: January 23, 2006, 06:17:49 pm »
I'm not sure how to go about getting this working on my SL-5500 (with henteges 3.5.3/opie rom) working.

Being new to Bluetooth and all I'm not sure where to start, all the information I've found seems to be related to the Sharp ROMs?

Thanks,

Kelly

5x00 Hardware / Socket Cf Lp Wlan Card + Wpa + Henteges Rom?
« on: January 23, 2006, 04:45:23 pm »
Has anyone had any success getting a Socket CF Low Power WLAN card working with a SL-5500 using henteges rom (or any other?) and using WPA?

I'm wanting to use this card with my SL-5500 and have my wifi set up with WPA, which works for all other stuff on my network, so ideally I'd like to get the SL-5500 to work with it.

Code: [Select]
cardctl info shows:

PRODID_1="Socket"
PRODID_2="CF+ LP WLAN Card Rev A"
PRODID_3="1.00"
MANFID=0104,0001
FUNCID=6

I've put the correct items into wpa_supplicant.conf as needed for my network. But no go, the OPIE network util only shows WEP key entry.

Any help/ideas?

Thanks,

Kelly

5x00 Hardware / Cf Bluetooth/cf Wifi Card + Cf Card Possible?
« on: December 23, 2005, 09:38:12 pm »
Hi,

I've got a SL-5500, which is running henteges OZ/Opie 3.5.3/1.2.0 ROM.

As it uses cardfs I find if I try to play mp3s from the SD card on my Zaurus the mp3s skip  (lower bit rate files, like audiobooks are fine though). If I have the mp3s on a CF card, all is fine.

Except..

I can't then be connected to the net via either Bluetooth or wifi usuing a CF card.

Is there any way around this? is there a way to add a second CF slot perhaps?

any ideas?

Would a CF->USB adapter ->BT/wifi + CF card work?

Do CF -> dual CF slot cards exist? if so would they work?

Thanks,

Kelly
