Cosmo Communicator - Android / Fullscreen browser?

Hmm.  Firefox does full-screen for me, once the page has completely finished loading, and you've scrolled up a bit.

Setings -> General -> Full-screen browsing.
Yeah, if the page allows scrolling that usually works, but some pages resize to your screen and you're stuck with the address bar, even 'fullscreen' addon for firefox doesn't help then for some reason

Apparently chrome lost its ability to browse in fullscreen somewhere since 2016 (settings->site settings as articles from 2016 suggest no longer has it), firefox seems to also have it missing and addon for fullscreen does nothing... Anyone has maybe figured this out? Thanks in advance
Opera has a fullscreen setting. I thought Vivaldi had it too, but couldn't find it in either the menus or with any of the keyboard-shortcuts (it supports quite a few) now. But I did find out that in addition to Ctrl-Tab for changing tab, you can use Ctrl-(1 to 9 or 0, although I only tested up to 3) to get directly to tab 1-9 (or 1-10?).

But Opera at least has fullscreen (and it supports some keyboard shortcuts as well, but not as many as Vivaldi).
Thanks, that works great!

@maki.jouni
Yeah, it usually works, but some page types do not scroll (things like webchat or similar) and the ultra wide nature of the display makes the address+status bar eat close to 20% of screen estate in those cases, having a button to force fullscreen is very useful then

@spook
Ended up with same setup

I imagine ANSI color stuff should work well in termux.

Agree!  Not only about ads but also whether or not to trust that the developer's code isn't doing something malicious like capturing data it shouldn't, especially for an SSH client.
Termux does handle 256 ANSI very well (tested on brogue roguelike, pretty amazing that it works that well over ssh), juiceSSH has issues, parts of screen do not refresh properly and colours are kind of all over the place. Tried SSHelper, but it would not connect to my jolla at all, then again it is mostly a server app (and probably some parameters could help, termux will do), thanks!

Maybe it only happens for mobile browsers, but searching keeps giving me the 'search flood control enabled, wait 5 seconds' even after waiting like 30 seconds, or even few minutes later (same for view new posts when I first logged in today, so after like 24h). Didn't notice it being that painful from desktop, though did have issue going back to 'view new posts' page once or twice, so it also seems to have some anti-caching code which forces the browser to reload it even when going 'back'

All keys seem to work fine which is a huge relief, yay
Welp, spoke too soon, left shift key works only half of the time. Do you guys think it will get better with usage? Is there some safe DIY way to fix it? Really don't want to send the cosmo back as that's at least few weeks on top of the 14 month wait so far, just for one key

While we wait for debian/sfos just wondering what people are using to avoid installing 20 shitty ones filled with ads etc

I've been happy with ConnectBot in the past but nowadays I just use termux for SSH and for so much more.  tmux on termux ftw.

I think PlanetC recommends JuiceSSH?  At least I thought I saw its icon in one of the howto videos.  I think they may have a video about SSH.

Thanks, ended up trying juicessh and so far so good (except bit of colour issues in mc), thought it would be standard android experience where you have 100 apps to do one thing and 90 do it barely with a ton of ads on top and the remaining 10% never invested in gaming playstore likes so have to waste a ton of time to get there. Gonna check termux/tmux, thx

19xx polish keyboard, EU plug, arrived today, V15, codi updated to 1.1.12 after 4-5 tries, I guess the .13 one requires higher base android version? All keys seem to work fine which is a huge relief, yay

And it also more or less states that if you are not locked by now, you will probably not be so until after the Chinese New Year is over in a few weeks...

And no reaction from anyone, amazing, perfect communication PC, we need a guy on an unrelated forum to decode your meaning
I don't really think you need to DECODE anything to understand that, they stated it quite clearly!! The only small hope for me, and anyone else still not "locked", is that we might be among those few that already ARE produced, and will be "locked" in a few days...
Did they state it quite clearly? Decoding failed as I got mine locked since then, so if it was clearly stated then it was a lie. In other news PC are starting to look for linux testers in comments (pasting here before it disappears 10 pages deep):

Marijan, we are planning with the open source community to have it released in February. If you would like to beta test, please let us know by replying here.
Wish they'd either restart their forum or use this one for such thing, but here we go

New update is up:

The factory also split the last delivery into two smaller deliveries and this has added to a further delay.

Finally, we now have nearly 400 Cosmo units ready to ship out. About 200 Cosmo units are on their way to Europe now and we will also continue shipping out the other 200 units from Hong Kong.

This mostly concerns the following keyboard layouts:

Czech keyboard
Dvorak keyboard
Finnish / Swedish keyboard
French keyboard
German keyboard
Hungarian keyboard
Italian keyboard
Icelandic keyboard
Danish / Norwegian keyboard
Polish keyboard
Portuguese keyboard
Russian (Cyrillic) keyboard
Spanish keyboard
Swiss keyboard

We are still awaiting certain keyboard layouts from the factory (including Croatian, Greek, Hebrew and Korean) .

Also, there is more stock (about 50 Cosmo units) ready at the factory awaiting inspection. Our person on the ground in China is on their way there shortly (Tuesday morning) to make further inspections. After the visit we will also have a clearer picture on the status of the remaining keyboard layouts.

Cosmo Communicator - General Discussion / Poor battery life

I left my new Cosmo closed overnight, with the cover display off (no LEDs showing), and nothing running.  (Nothing installed or set up, even — I've hardly touched it!)

This morning it was dead, with the battery completely empty; it wouldn't even respond until I plugged it in, and then took a while before waking up enough to flash ‘0%’ on the screen when I pressed the On button.

This does not bode well…
Also did you charge it with left or right port? From this thread it seems quick charging is buggy and going for slow charge is the way for now

Was wondering if there is any other way to pull topics/posts outside of browsing and RSS, as cosmos get delivered there's now healthy dose of new posts daily and turns out mobile browsing sucks, so was thinking of building a simple qml reader, but not sure what options are available. Found one topic from 2010 that mentioned xml skin that should be easily parsable (https://invisioncommunity.com/forums/topic/308582-feature-request-ipboard-rest-api-jsonxml/) though some commenters there seemed not too happy with it, links seem dead and just changing to xml.php also doesn't work. There's also some mention of xml rpc api, so hoping maybe this can be just like turned on somewhere in settings (or already is?), or would require minimal time investment to set up
