Does anyone reading this thread (excluding Cresho since I know he works almost exclusively on Cacko stuff) know how to get the OZ package of snes9x working correctly?  It complains of a missing library (XFree86-DGA), but I can see ipkg install this library when it installs snes9x.  The library is present in /usr/lib too.

okay!!  i uploaded the genesis updated zip with turbografx, snes, nes, etc.  Ill work on the gngeo later since i had a rough night.

Is the install any different for Cacko 1.23?

I have a working "turbo-nes-snes" package, (previous ver), but I have no keyhelpers installed.
I think Cacko already has these?

Also I have "libsdl_1.2.5-slzaurus20050410" installed.

but I don't have these installed:
"libSDL_1.2.6-zports-5"
"libSDL-mixer_1.2.6-zports-0"

Somewhere, I thought it was mentioned that Cacko has different libraries installed.
So, Do I need the last two?

last time i checked, i installed the zports sdl with no problems.  zemu was built on sl-5500 sdl.  you can overwrite it.  infact you should...your missing out on also lgames.org.

you need to uninstall previous zemu ipk fix, and previous emu.  install the one i slapt together.  it will not work with the libsdl-5500.  you need to use the packages i provide.  If you are running keyhelper through cacko, you need not install the keyhelper.

redownload it.  I fixed install instructions.  It will get updated again tonight or tomorrow after neogeo is incoperated into it with visualboy advance , one more emulator and probably a dreamcast ...someone actually slapt something together.

Opps, I made an error.
The first time I opened the package uninstaller, these two libraries were not shown:

"libSDL_1.2.6-zports-5"
"libSDL-mixer_1.2.6-zports-0"

The next time I looked in the package uninstaller, they were there.
So, I alreadfy have these.
Re-installing "zemufe-zports_0.1.1-3ex_arm" now.
I'll report when I get my first Genesis game running.

EDIT: OK, I tested my previous snes, nes, turbo games and all are working.
Here's what I did.
I uninstalled zemufe-zports_0.1.1-3ex_arm

Then installed these two:
zgnuboy_1.0.3-3_arm.ipk
dgen_1.23-SDL-1_armv5tel.ipk

Then re-installed the new zemufe-zports_0.1.1-3ex_arm.ipk
Rebooted and all games are working.
I haven't tried the Genesis games yet, I'll have them installed soon.

I got PGA Tour 96 running on Genesis
Screen re-draws take a long time, but not too long to enable play.
Here's a screenshot of PGA Tour 96, (first screenshot), using the new screenshot key in this version of the emulator.
Currently trying more Genesis games, and when I have tried the Golf games, I'll do another review on each golf game.

EDIT: Getting a screenshot is really cool
The screenshots are already rotated to landscape and are saved to the same folder as the respective game ROM.
I have seperate folders for the various machines.
Genesis - Arnold Palmer Golf looks and plays just about the same as on the console.
I haven't had enough time with it yet.

Hi Cresho,
 Are you planning to compile the NES and SNES applications with Joystick support as well?   

I have tried Joy2Key with no luck at all.  Using other versions of ZNester compiled for joystick use available on the Net worked, but the speed and response were much worse that the versions included in your current package, so I ended up giving up and going back to bashing the Z keyboard...

There is already joypad support for this but it's kinda difficult making heads out of the stuff.  Ill put something together soon.

Boy, does this bring back memories of long game sessions in the middle of winter a decade+ ago!
The introduction seems to play fine. I got to the char generation screen where you input your name.
Everything seemed fine there too.
I didn't go any further. I have about 180 holes of Golf to play first

I wish I knew anything about building stuff, if I did I would build your version of snes9x for OZ, Cresho.  One of these days I have to get OE/Bitbake working on my Linux box so I can give it a shot...

I got neogeo working but now i need to find some sdl compatible or build my own.  I get sound and it looks like it will run fast.  just man..i been up since ...23 hours now?

Anyone that's interested in Phantasy Star for Genesis, here's some info for Phantasy Star 3
The ingame game save method is different from the emulator's method of saving your game.
I could just use the "save" method that the emulator provides, but in Phantasy Star, there is already a game save area.
It is more true to the original game.
You must pay 5 coins at an INN to save your game.
At first I was having difficulties saving my game this way.
The opening screen checks for saved games.
(It wasn't able to load a saved game).
You need to set permissions on a directory.
/home/zaurus/.dgen/ram
The "ram" directory contains the Phantasy Star built in game save file
I set it to rwx for all users in Tree!Explorer.
I enclosed a screenshot of the directory on my C3100.

BTW, the "saves" directory will contain game save states, which are made using the emulator's hotkey - 'k'

These keys do these actions in Phantasy Star 3
A = Talk, Search, Purchase items
S = Backs out of previous action
D = Invokes action, Uses weapon
There are more functions for these keys, but I haven't gotten very far in the game yet.
